At the age of ten, I started tinkering with old radios and I learned a lot on my own from books. At the age of fifteen, I repaired my first TV sets. In 1969, I began designing music amplifiers speakers and more.

... ich bin Eddie, lebe in der Schweiz in der Nähe von Burgdorf. 1968 gründete ich den Markennamen Elacord für meine zukünftigen Produkte. Ab dem Jahre 1969 begann ich Musikverstärker, Echogeräte und Lautsprecher zu konstruieren. Ab 1971 trugen die von mir produzierten Geräte den Namen Elacord. Alles wurde bis 1992 nach Jugoslawien exportiert... dann wütete dort bis 1999 Bürgerkrieg. Von einem Tag zum andern brachen meine Geschäftlichen Kontakte ab. Mein Freund und Vermittler Miroslav aus Jugoslawien wurde in den Kriegswirren 1992 "versehentlich" erschossen. Es war Ausgehsperre aber er wusste das nicht als er nachts nach 22.00 Uhr mit dem Auto in seiner Stadt eintraf. - der Traum war aus - Nun widmete ich mich vermehrt Reparatur- und Servicearbeiten an elektronischen Orgeln, reparierte Lautsprecher, Audio und TV Geräte.
Dreissig Jahre sammelte ich Elektronik und Musikgeräte. Im Juni 2001 wurde meine komplette Sammlung mit über 6300 Geräten zerstört, als Brandstifter in der Nacht die Fabrikhallen in Brand steckten in denen sich meine Werkstatt und all meine Geräte befanden. Retten konnte ich nur ca. 400 vom Löschwasser beschädigte Bilder und Fotos... und zwei Computer Festplatten mit 900 digitalen Bildern. - Viele Jahre nach diesem Schock werde ich nun doch die noch brauchbaren Fotos digital auffrischen... und hier online stellen.

Hi... I'm Eddie, I live in Switzerland near Burgdorf. At the age of ten, I started tinkering with old radios and I learned a lot on my own from books. At the age of fifteen, I repaired my first TV sets. 1968 I founded the Brand Name Elacord for my future products. In 1969, I began designing music amplifiers, echo devices, and loudspeaker systems. From 1971, I built all the equipment under the Elacord brand name. Everything was exported to Yugoslavia until 1992... then a civil war raged there for several years. From one day to the next, all my business contacts broke off. My friend and intermediary Miroslav from Yugoslavia was "accidentally" shot dead in the chaos of the war in 1992. There was a curfew, but he didn't know that when he arrived in his city by car after 10 p.m. - the dream was over - Now I devoted myself more to repairing and servicing electronic organs, as well as repairing audio and TV equipment.
I collected electronics and musical equipment for thirty years. In June 2001, my entire collection of over 6,300 devices was destroyed when arsonists set fire to the factory buildings that housed my workshop and all my equipment during the night. I was only able to save about 400 pictures and photos damaged by the fire's water... and two computer hard drives with 900 digital images. Many years after this shock, I'm finally going to digitally restore the still usable photos... and I'm showing them here.
